Sharrway Farm, owned and operated by Wayne and Sharron Hinkle, is located on 20 gently rolling acres in Oklahoma. With easy access to Interstate 35, it is located approximately 125 miles from Oklahoma City, OK and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. An ideal location for Miniature Horses and American Shetland Ponies.
The love affair with Miniature horses began in 1984. Coming from an extensive equine background which included owning Shetland Ponies in the 1940s and 50s; showing Morgans in the 1960s to 70s; Arabians at the National level in the 70s to 1980, and riding Saddlebreds from 1940 to 1970s. A background in club participation as an officer, High Point Secretary in Ohio for several years, a 4->
advisor/leader with representatives from our county going to State and win! A riding instructor, who's pupils won Equitation medals at the National level, to name a few of the equine activities enjoyed and participated in before becoming involved with Miniature horses and coming to the root of equine participation, the American Shetland Pony.
Sharrway Farm has had the distinction of having every horse shown by us be in the AMHR National Top Ten rankings, with many achieving National Champion or Reserve and National Grand Champions. With top rankings in the All Star year end awards, and Top Ten...plus many Hall of Fame winners.
When switching our breeding program to American Shetlands, we have again been very fortunate to have had ponies in the top rankings since 1999. Our homebred ponies have achieved such notable wins as several Reserve Champion Futurity winners, in both the Classic and Modern Futurities, First place in the Amateur Owned & Shown, and the Amateur Owned and Bred By class, Top Ten's in the open classes for both Classic and Modern, as well as American Show Pony. Ponies we have sold have also been at the top of their classes, winning top honors in driving and halter.
Many of our early successes were sired by Lust's Classic Ebony...truly a Foundation stallion of merit.
Our 2005 successes were sired by our senior stallion, Hidden Image FMF - 2002 Modern Pleasure Halter Pony of the Year and Halter Hall of Fame. He is proving to be the type of breeding stallion we had hoped, producing Congress Champions with his first and second foal crops. Hidden Image also has a Top Ten in Country Pleasure title in 2003, a well-rounded individual producing champion foals.
